My Morning Cup O'

Good morning!  What a bright, beautiful sunshiny day.  And what better way to reflect it, than in a hot cup of - wait!  What is that, plain hot water? If you said no, you guessed right!  It's delicious lemon and ginger water.  An excellent cleanse to get things going - if you know what I mean.  And yes it does get them going.

Ingredients:
3/4 inch of fresh ginger sliced
1/2 a lemon
6 cups of water or more

To Brew:
First, Polly, put the kettle on and we'll all have lemon and ginger water. :)
(Sorry, I'm in a nutty kind of mood this morning.  So much better than all the dreary days I've had.  Anyway, I digress.)
Fill your kettle with enough water to fill your teapot, and bring to a boil.  My teapot holds about four to five, four ounce cups.

Add the sliced ginger to your empty teapot.  Then add the juice from the lemon.  I use a lemon press and squeeze it directly into the pot.  Feel free to add the rest of the lemon if you wish, but I prefer not to.  Pour the boiling water into the pot and let it steep for about two to three minutes.

Strain the lemon and ginger water through a strainer, into your cup.

Now go find a sunny, cozy spot and a 'good book,' or just sit down and take time to reflect on this bright, beautiful blessed new day.  There is always something to be thankful for.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you leave this stuff in your pot overnight like I did, be prepared for a surprise.  When I rinsed it out, half the tea stains were gone. I rinsed it and added a couple of drops of dish soap, brushed with a dish brush and wallah, no more tea stains.  Imagine what it will do to your insides.  :)
